CNC Setter/Operator

Location: Stroud

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £33,000 – £40,000 DOE (Depending on Experience & Shift Pattern)

Available Shift Patterns

Double Day Shift (Early/Late Rotating)

Early Shift

  • Monday – Thursday: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm
  • Friday: 6:00 am – 11:30 am

Late Shift

  • Monday – Thursday: 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm
  • Friday: 11:30 am – 5:00 pm

Permanent Night Shift

  • Monday – Thursday: 10:00 pm – 6:00 am
  • Friday: 5:00 pm – 10:30 pm

The successful CNC Setter/Operator will play a key role within the machine shop, supporting production requirements while ensuring quality and efficiency standards are consistently maintained.

Role Responsibilities

As a CNC Setter/Operator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting and operating CNC machinery within the machine shop
  • Producing precision components to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Carrying out machine checks and maintaining production documentation
  • Inspecting components to ensure quality standards are achieved
  • Reporting non-conformance issues where required
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment
  • Supporting production targets and continuous improvement activities
  • Working closely with Team Leaders and other departments across production

The Person

The successful CNC Setter/Operator will ideally have:

  • Strong hands-on CNC machining experience within a manufacturing environment (essential)
  • Previous experience setting and operating CNC machinery (essential)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good understanding of quality standards and inspection processes
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards work
