We are currently recruiting for a Lecturer/Associate Lecturer in Health and Social Care on behalf of our client, a leading educational provider committed to excellence in teaching and learning.

  • Salary: £27,432.30 - £40,795.26 per annum (pro rata).

The Role

Joining a supportive team of 11 lecturers, you will deliver a broad range of subject matter to learners progressing into various career choices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching & Learning: Provide engaging assessment activities that meet curriculum requirements and motivate learners toward autonomy.
  • Inclusive Education: Use emerging technologies and diverse resources to ensure a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment.
  • Individual Support: Collaborate with colleagues to address specific learning needs, including literacy and numeracy development.
  • Assessment: Design and apply fair assessment methods, maintaining accurate records of learner progress and participating in internal/external verification.
  • Professional Values: Promote equality, diversity, and safeguarding while encouraging students to reflect on how learning empowers their communities.

Shortlisting Criteria


Essential:

  • Experience: Previous experience teaching Health and Social Care (or related subjects) at Levels 2 and 3 within a post-16 setting.
  • Qualifications: An appropriate Health and Social Care qualification to at least degree level.
  • Teaching Status: A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) or a clear willingness to achieve one.
  • Safeguarding: A commitment to undertaking Equality, Diversity, and Safeguarding training.


Desirable:

  • Relevant clinical experience or a background in Nursing.
  • A specific Health & Social Care Degree.

The perfect person for this role will be a team player with excellent communication skills who can manage challenging behaviour with a positive, "helping not blaming" approach. You should be receptive to new ideas, reactive to change, and deeply committed to the highest standards of student service and safeguarding.


Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel between college sites as required.
  • Hold, or be willing to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check with a child barred list check.
  • Willingness to qualify for and participate in the first-aid rota.
