We are currently working on behalf of our client to find a talented individual to join their dynamic Legal Team in Stroud. This is a unique opportunity to work within a group dedicated to environmental sustainability and innovative energy solutions.

The Benefits:

Our client offers a comprehensive package designed to support your well being and professional life:

  • £42,000 to £52,000 per annum.

The Role:

We are seeking a versatile Legal Counsel to manage a wide ranging portfolio. While our client has a particular interest in candidates with experience or an interest in employment law and commercial litigation, your workload will remain diverse and unrestricted.

Responsibilities will evolve based on your experience and career goals, including:

Employment Law

  • Partnering with the People team on both contentious and non-contentious matters.
  • Assisting in the development of internal policies, compensation, and benefit packages.
  • Managing Employment Tribunal processes or coordinating with external counsel.
  • Building internal legal know how and best practices.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution

  • Investigating and resolving complex legal queries and disputes.
  • Drafting formal letters of claim and compiling evidence for court proceedings.
  • Assisting the debt recovery team with claims and managing court actions.

Commercial and Projects

  • Reviewing and negotiating customer and supplier terms and conditions to mitigate risk.
  • Drafting a variety of contracts including consultancy, partnership, and endorsement agreements.
  • Supporting the project life cycle for renewable energy assets such as solar parks, wind farms, and battery storage systems.
  • Advising on sponsorship agreements and procurement processes.

Property and Compliance

  • Supporting the planning team with the management of the property portfolio and renewable developments.
  • Advising on general legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Conducting in depth legal research and reporting findings to the wider group.

About You:

You are an efficient self starter who enjoys variety and adapts quickly to changing priorities. You possess a keen eye for detail but always maintain a commercial perspective. Most importantly, you are passionate about making a difference and are comfortable handling matters outside your immediate area of expertise.

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Ideally 1 to 3 years of post qualification experience.
  • Our client also welcomes applications from experienced legal executives, paralegals, or recently qualified solicitors with prior commercial experience in regulated sectors or HR.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time management and organisational abilities.
  • A professional approach defined by accuracy, tenacity, diplomacy, and integrity.
