CMM Quality Inspector - Night Shift
Location: Bristol
Salary: £40,000 - £45,500 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 10:00pm - 6:00am
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
We are recruiting an experienced CMM Quality Inspector to join a well-established aerospace manufacturing business in Bristol. Working as part of the Inspection team, you will inspect precision-engineered aerospace components and ensure that all products meet strict drawing, customer and regulatory requirements. You will use both manual inspection equipment and CNC CMM systems, while supporting first-off, in-process and final inspection activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect precision aerospace components to tight tolerances
- Programme and operate CNC CMM equipment
- Use 3D models and 2D engineering drawings to create inspection programmes
- Perform first-off, in-process and final inspections
- Complete pre- and post-subcontract inspection activities
- Select suitable measurement methods and inspection equipment
- Use manual measuring equipment, optical measurement systems and CMMs
- Produce accurate digital inspection reports
- Complete FAIR and PPAP documentation
- Identify and report product non-conformities
- Raise accurate NCR reports
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions
- Conduct measurements of components, tooling and fixtures
- Support Measurement System Analysis activities
- Assist with the calibration and control of measuring equipment
- Contribute to improvements in inspection processes and efficiency
- Ensure non-conforming products do not reach customers
Skills and Experience Required
- Previous experience in a Quality Inspector or CMM Inspector position
- Strong experience using manual and CNC CMM measurement equipment
- Ability to programme and operate CMM systems
- Experience inspecting precision-engineered components
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Good understanding of geometric tolerances and tight-tolerance inspection
- Confident using conventional measuring equipment
- Experience producing FAIR, PPAP or equivalent inspection documentation
- Knowledge of NCR reporting and non-conformance processes
- Experience working within an AS9100 or similarly regulated quality environment
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
- Ability to manage your own workload while supporting manufacturing teams
Experience with Aberlink CMM programming, including offline programming, would be advantageous. Experience using optical measurement equipment such as Keyence systems or shaft scanners would also be beneficial.
