CNC Sliding Head Machinist

Location: Cheltenham

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Shift: Double Day

Salary: £30,000 – £38,000 DOE + Shift Allowance

We’re currently supporting a growing precision engineering business in the Cheltenham area, with a strong reputation for quality and ongoing investment in machinery and people.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking to add an experienced CNC Sliding Head Machinist to their team.

Role Responsibilities

• Setting and/or operating CNC Sliding Head machines
• Producing precision components to tight tolerances
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Carrying out in-process inspection using measuring equipment
• Ensuring parts meet quality standards
• Supporting continuous improvement activities
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment

The Person

• Experience working as a Sliding Head Machinist (essential)
• Ability to set or operate Sliding Head machines
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Experience using measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
