Manufacturing & Assembly Operations Manager

Location: Stonehouse

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 DOE

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company where you will play a key role in overseeing manufacturing operations, production workflows, hands-on assembly activities, warehouse operations, supply chain coordination, and customer order fulfilment across the business.

This role would suit someone coming from a precision engineering, manufacturing, mechanical assembly, electromechanical assembly, fabrication, mechanical production, or operational background with experience across assembly teams, warehouse operations, logistics, dispatch, supply chain, and customer fulfilment activities.

The successful Operations Manager will be responsible for managing operational workflows across production and assembly, overseeing warehouse and logistics activities, coordinating supply chain operations, and ensuring customer orders are fulfilled efficiently and delivered on time.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities
  • Oversee assembly teams, production workflows, warehouse coordination, dispatch activities, and shop floor operations
  • Support hands-on assembly or operational tasks when required
  • Coordinate materials, purchasing, and production scheduling activities
  • Ensure customer orders are manufactured and delivered on time
  • Monitor production performance and implement process improvements
  • Lead and support operational and production staff
  • Maintain health & safety and operational standards across the site
  • Work closely with sales, purchasing, customer service, and senior leadership teams

The Person

  • Previous experience as an Operations Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, or similar operational leadership role
  • Strong background within manufacturing, engineering, assembly, warehouse, logistics, supply chain, dispatch, or production environments
  • Must have experience managing assembly teams, shop floor activities, warehouse operations, logistics, supply chain, and customer order fulfilment
  • Mechanical or engineering understanding would be highly advantageous
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable remaining hands-on and supporting operational activities when required
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Experience using ERP, MRP, or stock management systems would be advantageous
