Job Title: HVAC Service Technician
Job Summary:
The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential HVAC systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in the field. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to delivering high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and replace HVAC systems and components, including air conditioning units, heat pumps, and furnaces
- Diagnose system issues and recommend effective solutions
- Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and longevity
- Prepare accurate repair estimates and clearly communicate findings and recommendations to customers
- Ensure all work complies with applicable local codes and industry standards
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers
- Complete service documentation, reports, and administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner
- Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in proper working condition
- Collaborate with team members to promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or completion of a trade/technical program (associate degree is a plus)
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in residential HVAC service and repair
- EPA certification required
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and troubleshooting techniques
- Familiarity with local HVAC codes and regulations
- Proficiency with basic computer systems, tablets, and service software
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Bilingual skills are a plus
