Overview

A growing commercial general contractor in Lakeland is looking for an Estimator to join its office team. The company builds small to mid-size commercial projects, including medical office buildings, wastewater treatment plants, retail and entertainment. You'll work directly with the president and project team to price new work as the company grows.

Responsibilities

• Perform quantity takeoffs and prepare estimates from drawings and specifications

• Solicit, receive and level subcontractor and supplier bids

• Prepare bid packages, proposals and budgets for review by the president

• Develop preconstruction budgets and value engineering options

• Maintain cost data and pricing history to improve future estimates

• Work with project managers and superintendents to hand off awarded projects



Qualifications

• Commercial construction estimating experience

• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications

• Experience with estimating and takeoff software

• Strong subcontractor bid-solicitation and scope-review skills

• Organized, detail-oriented and comfortable meeting bid deadlines

• Interested in growing with an expanding company
