Senior Drywall & Acoustical Estimator

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Drywall & Acoustical Estimator to lead full-cycle estimating efforts and serve as a succession hire for a retiring Chief Estimator. This is a high-impact role with a clear path to Chief Estimator leadership, including the opportunity to build, mentor, and manage a future estimating team.

This position requires hands-on drywall and acoustical estimating experience within a drywall subcontractor environment. Candidates with a general contractor–only estimating background will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complete drywall and acoustical takeoffs for commercial projects
• Prepare detailed material and labor pricing
• Manage full bid cycles from pre-construction through bid submission
• Prepare, review, and finalize bid proposals, scope narratives, and clarifications
• Collaborate closely with project management and operations teams
• Support value engineering initiatives and cost optimization strategies
• Long-term responsibility to build, mentor, and manage an estimating team as Chief Estimator

Project Scope

• Commercial interior projects and exterior framing and sheathing
• Project values ranging from $500K to $25M+
• Project types include healthcare, education, hospitality, institutional, airport, and other complex commercial developments

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum of 5+ years of drywall and/or acoustical estimating experience
• Prior experience working for a drywall subcontractor
• Proven ability to complete full takeoffs and price both labor and materials
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction practices
• Ability to independently lead estimating efforts

Preferred

• Prior leadership or team mentoring experience
• Strong interest in progressing into a Chief Estimator role
• Experience estimating large-scale commercial projects
