Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Control Specialist to join our landscape contracting team. You will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and verifying that all landscape installations (softscape/hardscape) and maintenance services meet established company quality standards, safety regulations, and client specifications. The goal is to catch issues early, minimize rework, and ensure the highest quality final product.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Inspections: Conduct regular, proactive site visits during and after landscape installation or maintenance to evaluate quality, accuracy, and craftsmanship.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all work complies with contractual specifications, local building codes, ISA (International Society of Arboriculture) standards, and safety guidelines (OSHA).
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of quality inspections, including photographic evidence, in our management system.
• Corrective Action: Identify deficiencies (e.g., improper planting, hardscape misalignment, irrigation errors) and work with crew leaders to implement corrective actions immediately.
• Training & Mentorship: Train field staff on quality expectations, proper techniques, and best practices to reduce errors and improve overall efficiency.
• Client Satisfaction: Collaborate with project managers to address customer complaints regarding quality and ensure a satisfactory resolution.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience in a landscape leadership role (e.g., Foreman, Supervisor, or QC role) with strong knowledge of horticulture, hardscape installation, and irrigation systems.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of plant material quality, soil health, and hardscape construction techniques.
• Attention to Detail: Exceptional observational skills to detect subtle defects.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to deliver feedback effectively to crews and management.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to spend the day walking, standing, and inspecting jobsites in various weather conditions.
