Junior Drywall & Acoustical Estimator

Fort Lauderdale, FL (Relocation Supported)

Full-Time | In-Office Preferred (some flexibility available)

We are partnering with a leading commercial drywall and acoustical ceilings subcontractor in Fort Lauderdale that is looking for a Junior Estimator to join their estimating team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with basic estimating experience (or strong construction background) who is eager to grow into a full-cycle Senior Estimator and eventually Chief Estimator role.

The company specializes in high-quality commercial interiors and has a strong backlog of repeat business with top general contractors. Projects range from $500K to $25M+ in healthcare, education, hospitality, institutional, and complex commercial work.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with quantity takeoffs for drywall, metal framing, sheathing, and acoustical ceiling systems
• Support material and labor pricing under the guidance of senior estimators
• Help prepare bid packages, scope narratives, and clarifications
• Review drawings, specifications, and addenda to understand project scope
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing
• Participate in value engineering and cost optimization discussions
• Support project handoff from estimating to operations
• Learn and grow into full-cycle estimating responsibilities over time

Who We’re Looking For

Ideal Candidate

• 1–3 years of construction estimating or related experience (drywall, interiors, or commercial construction preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn
• Basic understanding of construction drawings and blueprints
• Comfortable working with numbers and spreadsheets
• Team player who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
• Recent graduates with relevant internships or strong construction background will also be considered

Background Requirements

• Experience in construction (estimating, project coordination, or field work) is a plus
• Drywall, framing, or acoustical ceilings exposure is highly preferred but not required
• Software-agnostic mindset — the team uses QuickBid (training provided)

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 (depending on experience)
