Sales Arborist

Position Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Sales Arborist to provide professional tree care consultations, prepare project estimates, and support clients with proactive tree management solutions. This role combines arboricultural expertise with relationship-driven sales and requires strong communication, estimating, and project coordination skills. The ideal candidate will have experience evaluating tree health, recommending appropriate services, and building long-term relationships with residential, commercial, and HOA clients.

Key Responsibilities

Tree Evaluation & Client Consultation

  • Conduct on-site tree inspections and property evaluations
  • Identify a variety of tree species, including palms, hardwoods, and protected species
  • Assess tree health, structural integrity, storm risk, and hurricane preparedness needs
  • Recommend pruning, removals, mitigation, and maintenance solutions in accordance with ANSI A300 standards and ISA best practices
  • Educate clients on tree health, safety, storm preparedness, and long-term landscape preservation
  • Provide professional recommendations tailored to client goals and property conditions

Sales & Estimating

  • Prepare detailed proposals for tree trimming, removals, stump grinding, palm services, and storm preparation work
  • Develop accurate project estimates aligned with company pricing standards and profitability goals
  • Clearly communicate scopes of work, timelines, exclusions, and permitting considerations
  • Follow up on proposals to answer questions, secure approvals, and close sales opportunities
  • Maintain strong customer relationships to support recurring business and service renewals

Regulatory & Permitting Coordination

  • Identify when local permits or environmental approvals may be required for tree work
  • Assist with gathering and coordinating permitting documentation for protected trees and regulated vegetation
  • Ensure recommended services comply with local ordinances, environmental regulations, and permit conditions
  • Communicate permit requirements and expected timelines clearly to clients

Customer Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, property managers, HOAs, and commercial accounts
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships through responsive communication and quality service
  • Assist with contract renewals, recurring maintenance programs, and change orders
  • Represent the organization professionally within the community and during client interactions

Operational Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with production managers and field crews to ensure work is completed according to proposal specifications
  • Participate in pre-job walkthroughs and post-job inspections as needed
  • Support scheduling priorities related to storm response, permit deadlines, and urgent service requests
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and address concerns promptly

Documentation & Systems

  • Maintain accurate job notes, photos, estimates, and customer records within CRM and estimating systems
  • Document site conditions, hazards, customer approvals, and project updates
  • Assist with tracking sales pipeline activity, proposal status, and performance metrics

Qualifications

  • ISA Certified Arborist preferred, or ability to obtain certification within six months
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional tree care or arboriculture experience
  • Strong knowledge of tree species identification, pruning standards, storm mitigation, and tree health assessment
  • Familiarity with local tree regulations, permitting requirements, and environmental compliance preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Experience preparing estimates and managing client relationships preferred
