Payroll Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations, accounting support functions, and client service delivery. This role is responsible for managing payroll processing, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting multiple client engagements. The ideal candidate will possess strong payroll expertise, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage payroll processing activities across multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.
- Validate payroll data and resolve payroll-related discrepancies.
- Oversee accounts payable functions, including invoice processing and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and accounting deliverables.
- Ensure accurate recording of payroll, accounts payable, and other financial transactions within client general ledgers.
- Maintain compliance with payroll regulations, internal controls, and audit requirements.
- Manage project timelines and ensure client deadlines are met efficiently.
- Lead recurring client meetings and serve as a primary point of contact for payroll-related matters.
- Collaborate with accounting, tax, and assurance professionals to support client service objectives.
- Utilize payroll and accounting software platforms to manage payroll operations and reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and client service delivery.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to team members.
- Troubleshoot complex payroll and accounting issues and develop effective solutions.
- Adhere to information security policies and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive financial and payroll data.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of payroll, accounting, or related experience.
- Experience managing payroll processes for multiple clients or entities.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, payroll processing, and financial reporting.
- Experience with payroll software platforms such as Paychex, Gusto, Paylocity, ADP, or similar systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
