Overview:
A private investment organization with a broad, flexible mandate across multiple asset classes is looking to add an Accountant to its growing team. This group invests across both liquid and illiquid strategies, allocating capital opportunistically based on market conditions rather than focusing on a single sector or strategy.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants exposure to both the operational and financial side of an investment platform. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and play a hands-on role in supporting day-to-day investment activity, financial reporting, and process development.
Because of the team’s size and structure, this position offers the opportunity to take ownership quickly, contribute ideas, and gain visibility across the full lifecycle of investments.
Responsibilities:
- Support maintenance of financial records and assist in tracking investment activity across a range of asset types
- Help prepare periodic reporting, including performance summaries and internal financial packages
- Perform reconciliations across cash, positions, and other key accounts
- Assist with valuation support and documentation for investments
- Coordinate with external service providers, including fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors
- Contribute to audit and tax preparation processes
- Assist with regulatory and reporting requirements as needed
- Help maintain and enhance internal processes and documentation
- Identify inefficiencies and contribute to improving workflows
- Provide ad hoc analysis and support for leadership on various initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1–2 years of relevant experience (public accounting or financial services preferred)
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals; exposure to investment-related accounting is a plus
- CPA (or working toward it) is helpful but not required
