Accounting Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Supervisor to oversee day-to-day accounting operations while providing leadership and guidance to a small accounting team. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, taking ownership of financial processes, and partnering closely with executive leadership.

The Accounting Supervisor will oversee accounts receivable, support full-cycle accounting and financial close activities, manage and mentor accounting staff, and coordinate with external accounting partners. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, analytical, and comfortable balancing hands-on accounting responsibilities with team leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Financial Management

  • Lead and oversee accounts receivable activities, including billing, collections, payment application, and revenue reconciliation.
  • Support full-cycle accounting processes, including month-end and year-end close.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
  • Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and other financial planning activities.
  • Monitor accounting activity and identify discrepancies or issues requiring attention.
  • Partner with leadership to provide accurate and timely financial information for decision-making.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, manage, and mentor a small Accounts Payable team.
  • Review the team's work to ensure payments and accounting transactions are processed accurately and on time.
  • Establish clear priorities, deadlines, and performance expectations.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to team members to support professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and service-oriented accounting environment.

External Accounting & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the company's external accounting firm.
  • Review and coordinate deliverables from external accounting partners to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
  • Work closely with executive leadership and senior stakeholders on accounting and financial matters.
  • Collaborate with operations and other departments to resolve accounting issues and support business objectives.
  • Coordinate effectively across teams, time zones, and business functions as needed.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Identify opportunities to improve and streamline accounting processes.
  • Develop and maintain accounting procedures and documentation to support scalability and consistency.
  • Support audits, tax filings, and regulatory requirements across applicable jurisdictions.
  • Help strengthen internal controls and accounting practices.
  • Ensure accounting activities are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Participate in special projects and other financial initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Experience supervising or managing accounting staff.
  • Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting and accounts receivable processes.
  • Experience with month-end and year-end close procedures.
  • Experience working with external accounting firms or third-party financial service providers.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, journal entries, and accounting controls.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification.
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, delivery, e-commerce, or another high-volume operating environment.
  • Experience with multi-location, multi-entity, or cross-border accounting.
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Familiarity with accounting systems, ERP platforms, and financial reporting tools.

Language Requirements

  • Fluent in English and Mandarin, both written and spoken.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across cultures, teams, and time zones.
