Position Summary

The MEP Revit Modeler is responsible for creating accurate and detailed mechanical drawings and BIM models within Revit to support engineering, fabrication, and production teams. This role plays a critical part in translating technical concepts and specifications into clear, standards-compliant documentation used for manufacturing, assembly, installation, and quality assurance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Interpret design sketches, engineering concepts, verbal direction, and technical specifications into professional drafting deliverables
  • Modify and revise drawings based on engineering markups, design updates, and project changes
  • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation and drawing packages
  • Ensure all drafting work complies with company and industry standards
  • Maintain and manage 3D scanning equipment and related software, including troubleshooting, updates, and coordination of repairs as needed
  • Organize and manage drawing files and documentation within software systems
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and quality teams to resolve design and fabrication issues
  • Participate in project review and coordination meetings to support updates and revisions
  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding technical drawing interpretation when required
  • Support additional departmental and project-related initiatives as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of drafting standards and file organization
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and within team environments
  • Understanding of MEP system coordination within BIM workflows
  • Ability to support occasional field/site visits for as-built data collection and coordination
  • Flexibility to work extended hours when needed to support deadlines or project coordination
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to pass required drug/alcohol screening

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or technical diploma in Drafting, Mechanical Design, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience using Revit for mechanical or MEP design with demonstrated BIM project experience
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of mechanical codes and standards related to industrial/process systems
  • Experience with P&ID drawings and electrical schematics
  • Familiarity with BIM workflows, coordination processes, and project lifecycles
  • Understanding of HVAC systems, ductwork, piping layouts, and process piping
  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards and practices including ISA, API, ASME, and IEC
  • Experience with 3D scanning equipment such as Leica, Faro, Trimble, Topcon, or NavVis systems
