Job Summary
The Tree Care Business Developer (Sales Arborist) is responsible for driving the growth of our tree care division by identifying, proposing, and closing tree maintenance, plant health care, and specialized arborist services within a designated territory. This role manages the full sales pipeline—from initial prospecting and technical on-site consultation to proposal presentation and contract negotiation—working closely with existing landscape maintenance account managers to expand services to current clients while aggressively pursuing new commercial opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities

Sales Prospecting & Growth: Actively generate new business leads through cold-calling, networking, referrals, and canvassing commercial properties (property managers, HOAs, developers).

Consultative Sales: Conduct site visits, assess tree health, identify hazards (disease, structural issues), and propose proper arboricultural solutions (pruning, cabling, removals, PHC programs).

Estimating & Pricing: Prepare accurate, profitable, and professional proposals outlining scope, labor, equipment, and cost. Utilize CRM/bidding software (e.g., Salesforce, Aspire, ArborGold).

Relationship Management: Build trust-based, long-term relationships with property decision-makers and act as the primary point of contact for tree-related service concerns.

Internal Collaboration: Work with Landscape Maintenance Account Managers to identify tree care enhancement opportunities within existing landscape portfolios.

Accountability: Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals (KPIs) set by management.

Safety & Standards: Ensure all proposed work complies with ANSI A300 standards and internal safety protocols.
Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of experience in tree care sales, commercial landscaping sales, or a similar service-industry sales role.

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of arboriculture, tree identification, pest/disease diagnostics, and plant health care.

Certifications: ISA Certified Arborist strongly preferred; willingness to obtain certification required.

Skills: Proven track record in B2B selling, negotiation, and closing complex contracts. Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Technology: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM software.

Licensure: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- This position is a combination of mobile field work and office tasks.
- Must be able to traverse uneven grounds and walk on job sites with clients for extended periods.
- Regular travel within the assigned regional territory.
