Job Summary
The Landscape Maintenance Business Developer is responsible for driving new, profitable business growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing commercial landscape maintenance contracts within a defined territory. This role requires a motivated, relationship-driven professional with strong sales expertise and industry knowledge to expand our client base, increase revenue, and ensure long-term customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with key decision-makers and act as the primary interface during the sales cycle.
Essential Responsibilities

Lead Generation & Prospecting: Identify and pursue new commercial landscape maintenance opportunities through cold outreach, referrals, networking, and attending industry events. Target clients may include property managers, developers, HOAs, and facility managers.

Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, trust-based professional relationships with influencers and key decision-makers to foster long-term partnerships.

Sales & Proposal Development: Conduct site visits, assess property needs, gather information, and collaborate with estimating and operations teams to prepare accurate, competitive bid proposals.

Negotiation & Closing: Present proposals, negotiate contract terms, and close new maintenance agreements aligned with company profitability goals.

Market Awareness: Monitor local market conditions, competitor activities, and industry trends to identify new opportunities and position the company as a preferred partner.

CRM & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline development, and results using our CRM system to provide timely and accurate reports.

Transition to Operations: Ensure a smooth transition of new accounts to the operations and account management teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
Qualifications

Experience: Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a B2B services environment, with a strong preference for experience in commercial landscape maintenance, construction, or property management.
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport quickly.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented with strong time-management skills.
- Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of commercial landscape industry components, including plant identification, basic design, and maintenance practices is a strong plus.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a large territory.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Horticulture, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
