Landscape Crew Leader

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Landscape Crew Leader to supervise and support a team of landscape maintenance crew members. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality landscape maintenance services are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with established service standards and client expectations. The Crew Leader plays a key role in team coordination, quality control, and on-site execution of daily work assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and motivate a team of landscape crew members to complete maintenance tasks efficiently and to a high standard
  • Ensure timely completion of landscape maintenance activities including mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, trimming, and irrigation checks
  • Enforce and comply with all safety policies, procedures, and operational guidelines
  • Safely operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment such as mowers, trimmers, edgers, and blowers
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance and report equipment issues as needed
  • Monitor property conditions to ensure they meet or exceed client expectations for quality and appearance
  • Identify and report landscape issues such as plant damage, irrigation concerns, or site hazards
  • Assist with tracking and managing materials, tools, and supplies required for job completion
  • Train and support crew members in proper landscaping techniques, equipment use, and safety practices
  • Communicate professionally with clients and address basic service-related concerns
  • Accurately record time worked, job updates, and equipment issues according to company procedures
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors or operations management

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Minimum of 1 year of landscaping or grounds maintenance experience
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with team members and clients
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently in the field

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to outdoor environmental conditions including heat, rain, dust, chemicals, and noise
  • Physical work requiring standing, bending, kneeling, lifting up to 75 lbs, and extended periods of manual labor
  • Daily travel between office location and job sites using a company vehicle or assigned transportation
  • Must be able to safely operate landscaping equipment in varying field conditions
