About the Role

We are looking for a finance-oriented leader to own the validation, underwriting, and assurance of negotiated savings and value outcomes across a portfolio of large enterprise clients. This is, first and foremost, a finance and analysis role — someone who lives in the numbers, builds and defends the financial case, and serves as a credible financial counterpart to client finance and procurement executives. Deep procurement domain fluency is important context, but the primary discipline we are hiring for is financial analysis and value validation, not category sourcing.

The role sits at the intersection of financial analysis, client leadership, and operational execution. Because our business operates predominantly under gainshare arrangements, the rigor and defensibility of the savings and value figures this person produces directly drives client trust and company revenue. The work is high-accountability: every outcome must be analytically sound, methodologically consistent, and able to withstand scrutiny from sophisticated client finance stakeholders.

This is a player-coach role that skews heavily toward individual contribution. We expect this person to spend the majority of their time personally performing complex financial analysis, savings validation, and value-realization modeling — not delegating it. They will also lead and elevate a small, experienced team and assume ownership of senior client relationships and invoicing currently handled by firm leadership, but the center of gravity is hands-on financial work.

The ideal candidate is a finance professional with consulting-grade rigor and executive presence, who is fluent enough in procurement and professional-services spend to validate and defend outcomes credibly — and who is energized by being the person who personally underwrites the numbers.

What You'll Do

Financial Analysis & Value Validation (core of the role — majority of time)

  • Personally lead the financial analysis, validation, valuation, and underwriting of negotiated savings and value outcomes across client engagements.
  • Build and own defensible baselines, methodologies, and financial models — distinguishing realized savings from cost avoidance, and ensuring every figure can withstand client finance scrutiny.
  • Validate savings and value outcomes before they are transmitted to clients, standing behind the analytics, assumptions, and methodology.
  • Apply rigorous financial analysis to professional-services and enterprise spend, translating complex commercial arrangements into clear, substantiated value.
  • Own the financial accuracy of savings-realization tracking and client invoicing.
  • Maintain exceptional standards for analytical rigor, quality control, and methodological consistency.

Client Leadership & Delivery

  • Serve as the senior, finance-credible point of contact for client finance and procurement executives throughout the validation and realization process.
  • Lead complex and occasionally contentious conversations on savings validation, value realization, and invoicing — defending figures with confidence and credibility.
  • Translate complex financial analyses into clear, persuasive, and defensible client communications.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders through accuracy, responsiveness, and sound financial judgment.
  • Assume ownership of key client-management and invoicing interactions currently handled by senior leadership.

Team Leadership (secondary to individual contribution)

  • Lead, mentor, and elevate a small team of experienced validation and analysis professionals.
  • Coach an experienced team while respecting and leveraging the expertise they already hold; supplement specialized skills where needed.
  • Create accountability and elevate analytical quality across the function while remaining personally close to the work.

Function Modernization

  • Advance the sophistication and efficiency of validation and realization processes through analytics, automation, and AI-enabled workflows.

What We're Looking For

This is a finance-first profile. Procurement expertise is a valuable complement, not the primary requirement.

  • 10+ years in finance, financial analysis, transaction/value advisory, FP&A, or a closely related discipline — with finance as the core professional identity.
  • Experience from a client-service / advisory environment with consulting-grade rigor (e.g., Big 4 financial/transaction/value advisory, top-tier or respected boutique consulting, PE/portfolio value-creation, or equivalent). We hold a high bar for analytical rigor and executive credibility.
  • Demonstrated ownership of financial analysis and value/savings validation, ideally involving professional-services spend — building baselines, substantiating outcomes, and defending figures to client finance leadership.
  • Significant experience managing executive-level client relationships in high-accountability settings, with the presence and judgment to navigate difficult financial conversations.
  • Exceptional financial and analytical acumen, including advanced comfort with large, complex datasets and financial modeling.
  • A genuine individual contributor at heart — someone who wants to spend the majority of their time personally doing the analysis, with team leadership as a complementary strength rather than the primary draw.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — able to make complex financial analysis clear, credible, and persuasive.
  • High ownership, accountability, and attention to detail, with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Procurement / sourcing / professional-services-spend fluency sufficient to validate outcomes credibly (strongly preferred, as a complement to the finance skillset).
  • Aptitude for modernizing analytical workflows through technology, automation, and AI.

Credentials (preferred)

  • CPA, CFA, or MBA with a finance concentration, or equivalent finance credentialing.

Required

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
  • Strong comfort working with data, analytics, and technology-enabled workflows.
  • Experience using AI productivity and analysis tools.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with ERP and procurement platforms (SAP, Oracle, Ariba, Coupa, or similar).
  • Experience improving analytical or operational workflows through automation or AI.
