Lead Superintendent – Multifamily Construction


Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Lead Superintendent to oversee field execution of large, ground-up multifamily construction projects across North Carolina and the surrounding region. This role is ideal for a seasoned field leader who can confidently run a jobsite, provide steady leadership, maintain momentum, and effectively manage trade partners.


Projects are typically $50M+ ground-up multifamily developments, primarily wood-frame construction. The Lead Superintendent will step in during early site work on fully permitted and awarded projects and focus on delivering strong field execution from start to finish.


This is a one-project-at-a-time leadership role, emphasizing focus, accountability, and follow-through to drive successful project outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field operations for a $50M+ ground-up multifamily project from early site work through project completion
  • Execute and manage the project schedule in the field, proactively identifying and resolving issues before they impact progress
  • Coordinate, manage, and hold subcontractors accountable across multiple buildings
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized jobsite with strong attention to quality and detail
  • Partner closely with the Project Manager and field team to ensure alignment on schedule, cost, and quality objectives
  • Enforce jobsite safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Conduct regular site meetings and inspections to maintain production and quality benchmarks

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience serving as a Lead Superintendent
  • Must have led at least two projects as the primary Superintendent
  • Strong wood-frame construction experience required
  • Extensive experience on large ground-up multifamily projects required
  • Large commercial ground-up experience may be considered for strong cultural and leadership fit
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
  • High School Diploma with consistent and progressive field experience will also be considered
