Business Tax Services Manager

Position Summary

The Business Tax Services Manager serves as a leader and trusted advisor within the tax practice, overseeing client engagements while delivering high-quality tax compliance and advisory services. This role is responsible for managing complex business and entity tax matters, mentoring staff, and building strong client relationships. The Manager balances technical expertise with strategic insight to provide proactive tax solutions that support client growth and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage business tax engagements with a strong sense of urgency and client service excellence.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and other business entities.
  • Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services based on in-depth knowledge of current tax laws and regulations.
  • Develop practical recommendations that align with clients’ operational and financial goals.
  • Manage multiple client assignments and deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with Directors and Partners on complex technical matters and strategic initiatives.
  • Leverage technology and automation tools to enhance internal workflows and client processes.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff through coaching, training, and performance feedback.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • CPA license required and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of public accounting tax experience, with at least 2+ years in a managerial or supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong expertise in business and entity tax compliance, including review of complex returns.
  • Experience providing tax planning, advisory services, and technical research.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and deliver value-added solutions.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership, mentoring, and team development capabilities.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
