Senior Superintendent

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent with a minimum of 15 years of construction experience to oversee field operations on healthcare construction projects. This role is responsible for managing on-site activities, ensuring project quality, maintaining schedule adherence, and coordinating subcontractors in a union environment.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned construction professional with strong leadership skills, deep healthcare project experience, and the ability to manage complex field operations while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field operations on healthcare construction projects from mobilization through completion.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, labor crews, and field activities to ensure work is completed according to project plans and specifications.
  • Monitor project schedules and ensure adherence to milestones and deadlines.
  • Maintain quality control standards and ensure all work meets required healthcare construction regulations and specifications.
  • Enforce jobsite safety standards and ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and address field issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Collaborate with project management, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve construction challenges.
  • Ensure proper documentation of field progress, issues, and resolutions.
  • Support coordination of inspections and compliance requirements throughout the construction process.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction field supervision.
  • Proven experience managing healthcare construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and field coordination.
  • Experience working in a union environment as a union carpenter.
  • Ability to lead subcontractors and field teams effectively.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and jobsite compliance requirements.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally throughout the Midwest (not full-time travel).
