Senior Cost Accountant Needed!

Our client is a leader in the consumer goods industry. They are seeking a highly motivated Senior Cost Accountant to join their growing financial team. You will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our cost accounting systems, providing valuable insights to support informed decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee all aspects of the cost accounting function, including standard costing, variance analysis, and cost allocation.
• Process Standard Cost transactions, for Material, Labor, and Overhead as needed; evaluate and resolve unusual variances.
• Analyze inventory valuations and correct as needed
• Prepare cost reports and presentations for management, clearly communicating complex financial data.
• Evaluate and create product cost updates for inventory items added by the operations team
• Maintain a strong understanding of relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Utilize cost accounting software and stay current with industry best practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Accounting ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, etc)
• 4+ years of experience in a senior cost accounting role
• Proven expertise in cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and activity-based costing (ABC).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve cost variances.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
