Landscape Project Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Landscape Project Manager to oversee landscape construction projects from initial handoff through project completion. This role is responsible for managing schedules, budgets, quality standards, client communication, and operational coordination to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate is highly organized, financially driven, client-focused, and experienced in professional landscape construction environments.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Execution

  • Lead landscape construction projects from kickoff through closeout with accountability for schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Identify potential project risks related to materials, permits, labor, and timelines, and proactively implement solutions.
  • Coordinate with field supervisors and crews to ensure site readiness, proper installation practices, and adherence to project plans and specifications.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining operational efficiency and project profitability.
  • Conduct project walkthroughs and ensure completion of punch list items prior to closeout.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain proactive communication regarding project updates, timelines, and changes.
  • Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities for additional services or change orders.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through responsiveness, transparency, and problem-solving.

Financial & Operational Oversight

  • Manage job costing, purchasing, and profitability tracking for all assigned projects.
  • Review material and purchase orders for pricing, quantities, and budget alignment.
  • Monitor labor, material, and subcontractor costs to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain weekly profitability and project performance reports.
  • Identify and manage change order opportunities to support project margins.

Team Collaboration & Coordination

  • Partner with operations teams, field supervisors, purchasing staff, and project coordinators to ensure successful project execution.
  • Lead operational and project coordination meetings to maintain accountability and project alignment.
  • Support smooth transitions between installation, warranty, and maintenance teams after project completion.

Quality Control & Closeout

  • Ensure all work meets company quality standards and project specifications.
  • Coordinate warranty-related items and timely resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Complete project closeout documentation, including invoices, warranties, and turnover materials.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, including at least 1–2 years within professional landscape construction.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape construction methods, irrigation systems, materials, scheduling, and site operations.
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, purchasing, job costing, and profitability tracking.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong client-facing communication and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency with project management and operational software such as Aspire, Procore, or similar platforms.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
