Location: Irvine, CA (On-site near Irvine Spectrum) - NOT HYBRID


Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire


Compensation: $32.00 – $38.00 per hour (Approx. $66,500 – $79,000 annually)


About the Role

Our client s is looking for a motivated Staff Accountant to join their 11-15 person accounting department. This role is ideal for a professional with a solid foundation in accounting who thrives in a collaborative, non-political environment. You will manage a specific portfolio of properties, handling complex client statements and contributing to the monthly close process under a manager committed to your professional growth.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting for a designated portfolio of clients.
  • Process and distribute approximately 200 monthly client statements.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and perform account reconciliations.
  • Support the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Utilize Sage 100 ERP and Excel to maintain financial records and investigate variances.
  • Collaborate with the broader accounting team, including AP, payroll, and financial analysts.
  • Adapt to a unique, industry-specific accounting structure that differs from standard GL practices.


Qualifications

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • Excel Skills: Medium to high proficiency (ability to manage data and formulas effectively).
  • Accounting Knowledge: Clear understanding of debits, credits, and fundamental GAAP principles.
  • Availability: Must be able to work 10-hour days during peak statement processing cycles (typically around the 10th, 15th, and 20th of the month).
  • Systems: Experience with Sage 100 is a plus, but a willingness to learn is required.
  • Environment: Comfortable working in a paper-based, full-time office setting.
