Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to support our manufacturing operations by developing, maintaining, and analyzing product costing systems and financial reporting. This individual will partner closely with Operations, Engineering, FP&A, and Finance leadership to ensure accurate inventory valuation, product costing, variance analysis, and operational reporting while driving continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory costing and reporting across manufacturing operations.
- Develop, review, and maintain standard costing models within the ERP system.
- Partner with Industrial Engineering to establish and maintain accurate product cost standards.
- Support month-end and year-end financial close activities related to manufacturing accounting.
- Prepare cost accounting, production, and inventory reports for management.
- Analyze manufacturing variances, including labor, material, overhead, and production efficiency.
- Review and maintain labor and overhead rates utilized within Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Perform product line profitability and margin analysis.
- Assist Operations and FP&A with capital expenditure analysis and ROI calculations.
- Monitor operating expenses and provide variance analysis against budget, forecasts, and prior periods.
- Build and maintain management reporting utilizing Excel, Power BI, and ERP reporting tools.
- Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for manufacturing costs.
- Perform ad hoc financial and operational analyses to support business decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, financial controls, and operational efficiencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

5+ years of cost accounting experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Experience with standard costing required.
- Food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods (CPG) experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of:
- Inventory accounting
- Manufacturing cost accounting
- Standard costing methodologies
- Variance analysis
- Financial reporting
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex financial models.
- Experience with ERP systems (manufacturing ERP experience preferred).
- Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence/reporting tools is a plus.
