Corporate Controller needed!!!
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of our nationwide distribution network. As a key leader within the finance department, you will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, including financial reporting, internal controls, treasury, and compliance.
The ideal candidate has a deep background in the distribution or logistics industry, understands the complexities of inventory management across multiple locations, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis: Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. Prepare and present accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

Inventory & Cost Accounting: Oversee multi-site inventory valuation, reconciliation, and cycle counting procedures. Analyze freight costs and distribution margins to identify efficiency gains.

Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Partner with the CFO to develop annual budgets and monthly rolling forecasts. Analyze variances and provide actionable insights to regional managers.

Treasury & Cash Management: Monitor daily cash positions, manage line of credit requirements, and oversee accounts receivable/payable functions.

Tax & Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors for year-end reviews and manage sales/use tax compliance across multiple state jurisdictions.

Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA or MBA certification is highly preferred.

Experience: 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller role within the distribution, wholesale, or logistics sector. Big 4 experience required

Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel (Power Query, Pivot Tables) and experience with large-scale ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or Oracle).

Regulatory Knowledge: Strong command of US GAAP and multi-state tax regulations.

Communication: Ability to translate complex financial data
