Senior Financial Analyst

Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting financial planning, business performance, and strategic decision-making. This position is responsible for developing financial models, preparing forecasts and reporting, analyzing business results, and providing actionable insights to leadership.

The ideal candidate combines strong financial and analytical skills with solid business judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, improve financial performance, and support data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management packages.
  • Analyze actual results against budget and forecast and provide explanations for significant variances.
  • Develop financial forecasts based on business drivers, trends, and operational assumptions.
  • Perform sensitivity analysis and what-if scenarios to evaluate investments, pricing decisions, and resource allocation.

Business & Financial Analysis

  • Analyze revenue, expenses, margins, profitability, and other key financial metrics.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities that may impact business performance.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, HR, Supply Chain, and other departments to understand financial drivers and improve results.
  • Identify opportunities for margin improvement, cost optimization, and increased operational efficiency.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs and provide recommendations to improve business performance.

Reporting & Data Management

  • Ensure financial information is accurate, complete, and consistent with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
  • Leverage ERP, financial planning, and business intelligence systems to improve reporting and analysis.
  • Develop and improve dashboards, reports, and automated financial tools.
  • Support data integrity initiatives and identify opportunities to streamline financial reporting processes.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests as needed.

Strategic Support

  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to management to support business decisions.
  • Support strategic initiatives, business cases, and investment evaluations.
  • Challenge assumptions and provide objective analysis to help leadership evaluate opportunities and risks.
  • Lead or support special projects and ad hoc financial analyses as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance organization.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or a related finance role.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, PivotTables, Power Query, and Power Pivot.
  • Strong financial modeling experience, including three-statement financial models.
  • Experience with ERP, financial planning, or business intelligence systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, CPA, or other relevant professional certification.
  • Experience with Oracle, PBCS, Power BI, Tableau, or similar financial and reporting platforms.
  • SQL or other data analysis experience.
  • Experience working with cross-functional business teams.
  • Experience developing automated reporting and financial dashboards.
  • Background in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and business performance management.
