Production Manager

Job Summary

The Production Manager is a hands-on operations leader responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring quality standards are met, and managing personnel, equipment, and resources to achieve operational goals. This role coordinates production schedules, supervises team members, maintains client and stakeholder satisfaction, and ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established standards and contractual requirements.

The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills who can effectively manage teams, budgets, and operational processes while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage production operations and execute production schedules to meet or exceed established performance objectives and service expectations.
  • Supervise, train, and develop team leaders and production staff on operational procedures, quality standards, safety protocols, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular site evaluations, inspections, and stakeholder meetings to assess operational needs, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor production quality and productivity, implementing corrective actions when necessary to maintain service excellence.
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, reporting, and billing-related activities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to resolve operational issues and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Maintain inventory levels of equipment, materials, and supplies required for daily operations.
  • Oversee workforce scheduling and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure accurate recording and approval of employee time and attendance records.
  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies, conducting inspections, and addressing hazards promptly.
  • Investigate and report safety incidents, policy violations, and operational concerns as required.
  • Lead performance management activities, including employee coaching, training, evaluations, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Foster a positive team environment that encourages collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
  • Partner with senior leadership on operational initiatives, process improvements, and strategic projects.
  • Travel between job sites, facilities, or customer locations as needed to support operational requirements.

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Manufacturing, Horticulture, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in production, operations, maintenance, manufacturing, landscaping, construction, or a related field.
  • Previous experience supervising and developing frontline employees, crew leaders, or production teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage schedules, budgets, resources, and operational performance metrics.
  • Experience working directly with customers, clients, or stakeholders to maintain positive relationships and ensure satisfaction.
