Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Bilingual Bookkeeper to support the accounting and operational functions of a growing construction-focused organization. This role requires hands-on bookkeeping experience within the construction industry, including AIA billing, invoicing, accounts payable/accounts receivable, reconciliations, and job cost tracking.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, fluent in both English and Spanish, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting support functions for construction projects and company operations
  • Prepare and process AIA billing packages, progress billings, lien waivers, and supporting documentation
  • Generate customer invoices and ensure timely, accurate billing for projects and service work
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including vendor payments and collections follow-up
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, vendor statements, and general ledger accounts
  • Maintain accurate job costing records and assist with tracking project budgets and expenses
  • Support payroll processing and ensure proper labor cost allocation across projects
  • Coordinate with project managers regarding billing schedules, contract values, change orders, and payment applications
  • Assist with month-end close procedures, financial reporting, and audit preparation
  • Maintain organized accounting records, subcontractor files, and compliance documentation
  • Communicate professionally with vendors, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams in both English and Spanish
  • Support accounting process improvements and assist with additional administrative or financial tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience within the construction industry required
  • Hands-on experience with AIA billing and construction invoicing required
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and job costing
  • Experience with construction accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Foundation, Viewpoint, or similar systems preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and overall computer proficiency
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting multiple construction projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of subcontractor compliance requirements, certificates of insurance, and lien release processes
  • Experience assisting with payroll processing in a construction environment
