Position: Account Manager – Outside Sales

The Account Manager – Outside Sales is responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of clients, primarily within the construction and building trades industry. This field-based position focuses on developing long-term customer relationships, driving new business, and achieving sales goals. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, knowledgeable about construction materials, and excels in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to retain and expand accounts.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities with contractors, builders, and developers.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess client needs, resolve issues, and recommend appropriate products.
  • Prepare and deliver quotes, bids, and product proposals.
  • Collaborate closely with inside sales, operations, and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and high-quality service.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor activities, and product developments.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of sales activities, pipelines, and customer communications through CRM systems.
  • Consistently meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of outside sales experience in construction, building materials, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting sales goals and growing customer accounts.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of construction materials (e.g., lumber, drywall, hardware) preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to travel locally on a daily basis.
