Manufacturing Team Lead

Position Summary

Seeking an experienced Manufacturing Team Lead to support daily manufacturing and assembly operations. This individual will work with the various levels of the organization to coordinate the activities of the manufacturing assembly team while maintaining production schedules. This person will ensure that quality and productivity standards are met. Additionally, maintaining safety is of paramount importance.

The Team Lead will be knowledgeable in departmental processes and will serve as a resource, trainer, and mentor for new employees as well as team members undergoing cross-training.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Coordinate the daily activities and workflow of an assembly team of approximately 10–15 employees.
• Work closely with management to support production schedules and ensure the timely completion and delivery of components.
• Develop proficiency across manufacturing and assembly processes within the assigned department.
• Train and mentor new employees. Cross train when necessary. 
• Apply basic continuous-improvement principles to help improve productivity, workflow, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Read, understand, and follow work instructions and ensure team members are properly trained on established procedures.
• Read and interpret product drawings and specifications.
• Perform and assist with assembly and production activities as required.
• Use manual and power tools safely and effectively.
• Use measuring devices and other production equipment.
• Perform functional tests and product inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous manufacturing experience in assembly and/or CNC machine operation preferred.
• Previous experience leading, coordinating, or directing the work of others is preferred.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply written work instructions.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
• Must be flexible and willing to work in other departments when needed.
• Must be available to work overtime when required.
