  • Manage project schedules, technical risks, engineering deliverables, and resource requirements.
  • Work with external engineering partners, PCB layout resources, component suppliers, manufacturers, and other vendors.
  • Support component selection, procurement, PCB fabrication, assembly, and prototype development.
  • Manage engineering budgets related to laboratory equipment, prototypes, software, and outside engineering resources.
  • Maintain and improve the electrical engineering laboratory and ensure appropriate test equipment and safety procedures are in place.
  • Support regulatory and product certification requirements for products sold into domestic and international markets.
  • Communicate technical status, risks, and project updates to senior leadership.

Technical Qualifications

  • 7+ years of hands-on electrical/electronics engineering experience in a high-technology product development environment.
  • 2+ years of experience leading, supervising, or managing electrical/hardware engineers.
  • Strong experience with power electronics and electrical circuit design.
  • Experience with 3-phase motor control, motion control, motor drives, or related technologies.
  • Strong PCB design experience, including schematic capture, layout, component selection, and design validation.
  • Experience with hardware/software integration and embedded control systems.
  • Knowledge of high-speed or industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet, EtherCAT, CAN, or similar technologies.
  • Understanding of thermal management and electrical/mechanical product packaging.
  • Experience taking complex hardware products from initial concept through production.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard PCB design tools such as Altium, OrCAD, PADS, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Leadership & Project Management

  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple engineering priorities.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance hands-on technical involvement with team leadership and resource management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues to both engineering teams and executive leadership.
  • Experience working with external suppliers, engineering contractors, and manufacturing partners.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional product development environment.
