HVAC Service Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Service Technician to install, diagnose, repair, and maintain residential HVAC systems. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality service while ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining safety standards, and accurately documenting service work. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, install, and maintain residential HVAC systems, including air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, and related equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and recommend appropriate repair solutions.
- Prepare accurate repair estimates and clearly explain findings and recommendations to customers.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable HVAC codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment at customer locations.
- Complete service reports, work orders, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain and safely operate company tools, equipment, and service vehicles.
- Build positive relationships with customers by providing professional, courteous, and knowledgeable service.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient project completion and customer satisfaction.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or completion of a trade or technical program in HVAC or a related field.
- 3+ years of residential HVAC service or maintenance experience.
- EPA Certification required.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, including heat pumps, gas furnaces, air conditioning units, and ventilation systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical HVAC issues.
- Familiarity with local HVAC codes and safety regulations.
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to use tablets, laptops, or mobile applications for service documentation.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple service calls, and maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
