FP&A Systems Administrator

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive FP&A Systems Administrator to own the ongoing administration, optimization, and support of our Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) platform, with core expertise in Oracle EPBCS (Enterprise Planning and Budgeting Cloud Service).

In this role, you will bridge the gap between Corporate Finance/FP&A and IT, serving as the technical and operational subject matter expert for our planning, forecasting, and reporting applications. You will partner directly with FP&A leadership, corporate accounting, and business unit analysts to streamline data integrations, optimize business rules/calc scripts, enhance Smart View reporting, and ensure data integrity across our financial cycles.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration & Data Integrity

  • Serve as the primary administrator for Oracle EPBCS/Planning Cloud modules (Financials, Workforce, Capital, Projects) and related EPM applications.
  • Manage and execute recurring administrative routines, including metadata updates, dimension hierarchies, user provisioning, security profiles, and substitution variables.
  • Oversee and optimize automated data pipelines, ETL routines, and data management integrations (Data Management / Data Integration / FDMEE) connecting Oracle EPBCS with underlying ERP systems and data warehouses.
  • Monitor daily system performance, scheduled batch jobs, backups, and routine Oracle Cloud monthly release updates, assessing impact and performing regression testing.

Model Maintenance & Continuous Improvement

  • Design, test, and maintain calculation scripts, business rules, Groovy rules, member formulas, and data forms to support dynamic forecasting and budget processes.
  • Partner closely with the FP&A team to translate evolving business requirements into scalable technical configurations, driver-based models, and what-if scenario models.
  • Troubleshoot calculation performance, data load discrepancies, and currency translation issues to ensure fast query response times and system stability.

Reporting & End-User Enablement

  • Develop, standardize, and maintain management reports and templates using Oracle Smart View, Financial Reporting (FR) Web Studio, and Narrative Reporting/Management Reporting.
  • Act as the frontline technical support for finance power users and regional analysts during month-end close, quarterly forecasts, and annual budget cycles.
  • Create and update technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), data dictionaries, and deliver periodic training to drive user adoption and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience:
  • 3–6+ years of hands-on experience administering, developing, or supporting Enterprise Performance Management systems.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years dedicated specifically to Oracle EPBCS / Planning and Budgeting Cloud (PBCS).
  • Technical Skills:
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Oracle EPM Cloud architecture, Data Management (FDMEE), and dimension hierarchy design.
  • Strong working knowledge of calculation scripts, business rules, and member formulas; experience with Groovy scripting is a significant plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Oracle Smart View (ad-hoc analysis, formulas, connection troubleshooting).
  • Familiarity with upstream core ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Cloud ERP, NetSuite, SAP, or similar) and general ledger data structures.
  • Core Competencies:
  • Firm grasp of core financial concepts, three-statement modeling, variance analysis, chart of accounts structures, and FP&A business cadences.
  • Proven analytical and root-cause troubleshooting skills with an ability to manage multiple deliverables in tight close/budget windows.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to translate technical system behavior into plain financial language for executive stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle Cloud EPM / EPBCS Implementation or Administrator Certification.
  • Experience with REST APIs, EPM Automate scripting, or SQL/relational databases for scheduled data ingestion.
  • Prior experience participating in an end-to-end EPBCS implementation, migration, or module rollout (Workforce or Capex).
