We partner with clients to create meaningful experiences through inspired design. Our people make us different—we bring experiences to the forefront of everything we do. As Senior Project Manager, you will lead complex civil projects that shape education campuses, healthcare facilities, and civic spaces, owning delivery from concept through construction while growing clients and teams.

Performance Objectives

  • Deliver complex civil site projects—layout, grading, stormwater, utilities, and permitting—from concept through construction administration on time, on budget, and to the company standards.
  • Serve as primary client partner, managing expectations to generate repeat business, referrals, and expanded work.
  • Direct multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants, allocating resources and resolving risks before they affect schedule or profitability.
  • Lead permitting and agency coordination to secure timely approvals and maintain compliance.
  • Mentor engineers and junior project managers through reviews and coaching that build capability and retention.
  • Identify opportunities, prepare proposals, and support interviews that grow our Education, Healthcare, Civic, and related practices.

Environment & Resources

You report to a Sector or Practice Leader and collaborate with planners, landscape architects, civil engineers, and geomatics staff across our Raleigh headquarters and offices in North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and Florida. You will use Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and firm project systems, backed by internal specialists, a strong subconsultant network, and leadership that invests in people who want to build.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; EI required, PE preferred or in progress.
  • 8+ years of civil site design experience including 4+ years managing projects through construction for institutional, education, or healthcare clients.
  • Proven success managing multiple projects, budgets, schedules, permitting, and construction administration simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and AutoCAD plus deep knowledge of stormwater, grading, utilities, and local regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor staff, manage clients, and contribute to business development.

Role Selling Points

  • High-impact work creating campuses, healing environments, and community infrastructure that last.
  • Autonomy to influence strategy and grow a practice inside a collaborative, team-first culture.
  • True multidisciplinary delivery with in-house planning, landscape architecture, transportation, and surveying.
  • Long-term leadership path in a privately held firm expanding across the Southeast.
