Senior Accountant

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the organization's accounting and financial reporting functions. This role is responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, performing account reconciliations, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records across multiple entities.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in multi-entity accounting environments. This individual will work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to support financial reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & General Ledger

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries as part of the month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Perform detailed balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations.
  • Analyze financial results and investigate variances to ensure reporting accuracy.

Multi-Entity Accounting

  • Support accounting activities across multiple legal entities.
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions and ensure appropriate eliminations and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate financial records while ensuring consistency across entities.
  • Assist with consolidating financial information for reporting purposes.

Financial Analysis & Compliance

  • Review financial information for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with accounting policies and applicable accounting standards.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for audits, tax filings, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Assist with tax-related requests and coordinate with external accounting professionals as needed.
  • Prepare regulatory filings, business license renewals, and other required financial documentation.

Investor & Administrative Accounting Support

  • Process and track investor distributions and maintain supporting records.
  • Assist with maintaining accounting documentation and financial records.
  • Support special projects, financial analyses, and process improvement initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA designation preferred but not required.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliations.
  • Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Experience working in a multi-entity accounting environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Experience with ERP, property management, or financial management systems is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining confidential financial information.
