Regional Controller
About the Role
The Regional Controller is responsible for overseeing financial accounting, reporting, analysis, and administrative compliance across a designated region. This role plays a key part in evaluating business performance, improving financial results, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
The Regional Controller partners closely with Branch Managers, regional leadership, and other key stakeholders to develop and implement strategies that strengthen financial performance. This includes leading budgeting and forecasting activities, overseeing the month-end close process, analyzing financial results, and providing guidance to branch teams on financial and administrative best practices.
Performance Objectives

Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and review accurate and timely branch and regional profit and loss statements, financial reports, and performance analyses.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop, monitor, and maintain branch and regional budgets and forecasts, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improved financial performance.

Month-End Close: Lead and support branch teams throughout the month-end close process, ensuring financial information is complete, accurate, and submitted on schedule.

Financial Performance Management: Analyze business performance and provide actionable insights and recommendations to regional and branch leadership.

Branch Financial Support: Coach and mentor branch teams to improve their understanding of financial results, key performance indicators, and the tools available to manage a profitable operation.

Administrative Process Oversight: Monitor branch-level administrative and financial processes, including accounts receivable, billing, purchasing, accounts payable, payroll, and related activities.

Internal Controls & Compliance: Promote adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and administrative procedures while identifying opportunities to improve processes and reduce financial risk.

Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with operational and leadership teams to support business planning, decision-making, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and administrative processes, improve reporting accuracy, and increase operational efficiency.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4–6 years of progressive general accounting or financial management experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger processes.
- Proficiency with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound business judgment.
- Ability to interpret financial results and translate data into actionable business recommendations.
- Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
