We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator / Purchaser to help bridge the gap between design vision and flawless execution. This role is a critical part of the project delivery team, ensuring that every element of residential builds is thoughtfully estimated, sourced, and scheduled with precision.


Collaborate on unique high-end residential landscapes, including pools, stonework, planting, drainage, utilities, and custom carpentry such as decks and pool houses. Play a vital role in project estimating, purchasing, and material coordination to ensure that each project is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.

Responsibilities:

Estimating


• Prepare accurate cost estimates for luxury residential landscape construction projects, including pools, masonry, planting, carpentry (such as decks, pavilions, and pool houses), site work, drainage, and utilities

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs from architectural, engineering, and site plans; double-check takeoffs to confirm estimate accuracy

• Solicit and manage bids from subcontractors and vendors, ensuring comprehensive scope coverage and competitive pricing

• Evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals for alignment with plans, specifications, and project standards

• Maintain and regularly update pricing sheets, cost codes, and prebuilt kits in Aspire software to reflect current market rates and company preferences

• Collaborate with the design and sales teams to evaluate feasibility, identify value engineering opportunities, and resolve scope discrepancies

• Track historical pricing trends to support benchmarking, budgeting, and forecasting

• Participate in internal project handoff meetings to clearly communicate scopes, quantities, material needs, and procurement timelines

• Contribute to the ongoing improvement of estimating tools, templates, and department-wide best practices

 

Purchasing


• Source materials, plants, and subcontractor services that meet design intent and project requirements

• Build and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure competitive pricing and dependable delivery schedules

• Track purchase orders, monitor material lead times, and coordinate delivery timelines with operations

• Maintain up-to-date records of procurement status and proactively address potential delays or shortages

• Ensure alignment between procurement activities and construction schedules to minimize downtime

 

Collaboration and Communication

• Participate in internal coordination meetings to align expectations, clarify scopes, and prepare project teams

• Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders, vendors, and subcontractors

• Help refine internal systems and estimating procedures to improve overall project efficiency

• Identify cost-saving opportunities and ways to minimize waste through thoughtful planning

 

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum of five years of estimating experience in residential landscape construction

• Familiarity with a wide range of construction disciplines, including masonry, site work, drainage, planting, utilities, and carpentry

• Strong knowledge of materials, sourcing strategies, vendor negotiation, and market pricing

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Aspire or PropertyIntel is preferred but not required

• High level of accuracy, organization, and time management across multiple active projects

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience in engineering or surveying is a plus, though not required

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree or technical certifications preferred

 

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary range of $70,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience
