New York City, NY
Apply for this job

Role: Chief of Staff

Location: New York, New York (in-person, 5 days onsite)

About our client:

Our client is building the most compelling non-cars on earth. Think Tesla meets Apple meets Nike—but for personal electric vehicles that redefine urban transportation. After years developing breakthrough products (P1 high-performance scooter, Olto bike-lane vehicle), they are entering mass production with $11M raised from Andreessen Horowitz and preparing for explosive GTM scaling.

Their visionary Co-Founder & President has exactly the right intuition for where to take the brand but needs an operational force multiplier. He’s currently “running between six pots on the stove”—managing marketing, sales, creative, partnerships, and brand building simultaneously. They need someone who can handle tactical execution and organizational excellence so he can focus on opportunity creation and strategic vision.

This isn’t a typical Chief of Staff role. You’ll be the operational right-hand to a brilliant founder building the “Nike of vehicles”—transforming micromobility from commodity products into objects of desire. The ideal candidate is a “beacon of excellence” with an exceptional academic/professional background, startup operations experience, hyper-organizational skills, and ready for an intense, equity-motivated environment.

Position Overview:

Our client exists to make the best personal electric vehicles and fundamentally rethink transportation in cities. Their mission is to create a post-car urban future through inspiring alternatives to traditional vehicles, and their vision is to build vehicles that become objects of desire and self-expression.

The Chief of Staff role is designed to be an operational force multiplier for the Co-Founder & President. You will translate high-level strategy into actionable execution, coordinate cross-functional teams, and implement systems that enable scale during a critical inflection point.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Execution & Prioritization - Translate high-level goals into actionable team plans; drive alignment across marketing, sales, partnerships, and customer success; track progress against OKRs/KPIs.
  • Operational Excellence - Own GTM organization’s master calendar and milestone coordination; prepare meeting materials, manage follow-ups, and ensure systematic execution; build dashboards and reporting for visibility.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership - Facilitate communication between GTM, Product, and Operations; identify workflow gaps and implement scalable solutions; lead special projects spanning multiple functions (launches, partnerships, pricing).
  • Field Operations & Activations - Build IRL activation capabilities and experiential marketing showcasing vehicles.
  • Content Creation & Creative Production - Scale press and influencer outreach; build a creative content engine to support brand positioning.
  • Sales & Growth Infrastructure - Transform sales into systematic revenue generation; develop processes, tools, and tracking; establish performance marketing capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • What We’re Looking For
  • A track record of exceptional achievement — whether through top academic credentials, founding or scaling a startup, distinguished military service, athletic excellence, or rapid career progression.
  • Demonstrated, quantifiable impact in previous roles.
  • Experience in startup operations with a proven ability to build and scale systems and processes.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled in project management.
  • Excellent communicator with strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Preferred Backgrounds
  • 5–7 years of experience in startup operations, ideally at the Director level within GTM Operations or as a Chief of Staff.
  • Experience in fashion or design operations, particularly with forward-thinking or innovative brands.
  • Experience in hardware or physical product operations, such as vehicles, consumer goods, or manufacturing.
  • Who You Are
  • Motivated by ownership and long-term equity, not just short-term compensation.
  • Energized by building in challenging, uncharted spaces — hands-on, scrappy, and resourceful.
  • Excited by the vision of shaping a post-car urban future and contributing to a premium, aspirational brand.

What they offer:

  • Financial & Equity Upside: $150K base + 0.25–0.5% equity; philosophy favors long-term equity upside over short-term cash.
  • Learning & Exposure: Direct partnership with a visionary founder during a critical scaling phase; front-row seat to building a premium brand in a commodity market.
  • Career Growth: 2-year Chief of Staff role with potential to advance into functional leadership or CEO partnership.
  • Mission Impact: Opportunity to build a generational vehicle company transforming urban mobility.
  • Culture: Intense, hands-on environment with “beacon of excellence” standard across all team members.
