Role: Chief of Staff, GTM / Head of GTM Operations
Location: Mountain View, CA (4 days onsite, Friday flexible)
Salary/Compensation: Competitive base salary, significant equity participation, and comprehensive benefits
Our client is a leading AI security company developing ethical AI infrastructure to protect truth in the generative era. Backed by $23M from strategic investors, they operate at the intersection of AI voice technology and authenticity verification; working on both creating synthetic voices and detecting them. Their mission is to ensure that as AI-generated content becomes ubiquitous, there’s always a way to verify what’s real and what’s artificial.
Their unique position—building both generation and detection capabilities—creates a strong competitive advantage in a rapidly emerging market for AI authenticity and security.
Position Overview:
The Chief of Staff / Head of Operations will lead commercial strategy and operational scaling during a pivotal growth phase. Partnering directly with the Founder & CEO, this leader will translate cutting-edge AI technology into systematic revenue while helping define an entirely new market category in AI authenticity.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Develop and execute go-to-market strategy for AI detection and authenticity technology; translate technical innovation into scalable revenue.
-
Build commercial systems — pricing, sales processes, and market positioning — that can scale across enterprise and government sectors.
-
Lead complex sales and partnership development, including converting strategic investors and partners into customers.
-
Coordinate cross-functional operations, ensuring alignment across sales, marketing, partnerships, and product teams.
-
Drive customer and market insight, identifying new opportunities and informing commercial strategy through direct engagement with key accounts.
-
Enable the CEO’s focus on product and engineering by owning business operations, revenue processes, and strategic execution.
-
Establish repeatable GTM frameworks that support long-term growth, category leadership, and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
This role requires a rare blend of commercial strategy, operational rigor, and founder-level ownership. The ideal candidate is equal parts builder and operator — someone who has turned chaos into structure at early-stage startups and thrives in undefined, high-stakes environments.
✅ You likely fit if you:
- Have built 0→1 go-to-market systems at early-stage startups (Series A–C)
- Have led commercial or operations teams where success depended on your ability to create structure from scratch
- Can move fluidly between strategy and execution — you design the playbook, then run it
- Have closed complex B2B deals or partnerships with enterprise or government clients
- Are energized by ambiguity and uncharted markets; you don’t need a playbook to start building one
- Communicate clearly and directly with technical founders, investors, and executives
- Operate with urgency and accountability; you care about outcomes, not titles
- Feel a personal connection to the mission of protecting truth and ethics in the AI era
❌ This role is not for you if:
- You’ve only operated in structured corporate environments or rely on established GTM processes
- You prefer clear playbooks over experimentation and first-principles thinking
- You see yourself primarily as a sales executor or project manager, not a business builder
- You need heavy direction or layers of approval before taking action
- You prioritize predictability and work-life balance over mission intensity and ownership
What they offer:
- Competitive compensation and significant equity
- Comprehensive health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits
- Direct collaboration with exceptional technical leadership
- Opportunity to help shape a new market category in AI authenticity and security
- Mission-driven work protecting truth in the AI era
