🎯 Position Summary
The Director of Home Care Operations is responsible for the overall management, growth, and quality of home care services. This leadership role oversees day-to-day operations, ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, and leads a high-performing team to deliver exceptional care to clients in their homes. The ideal candidate is both operations-driven and client-focused, with a strong grasp of staffing, quality assurance, and business development.
✅ Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily operations of all home care services to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance
- Manage branch or territory performance, scheduling, and service delivery KPIs
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) across teams
Team Management
- Recruit, train, and manage care coordinators, field staff (caregivers/CNAs), and administrative teams
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet client demand
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and coaching for leadership and support staff
Quality & Compliance
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including home care licensure requirements
- Implement and oversee quality assurance processes and audits
- Respond to client feedback, incidents, and concerns in a timely and professional manner
Client & Family Experience
- Ensure high standards of client satisfaction and family communication
- Partner with intake teams to ensure smooth onboarding and care transitions
- Monitor client outcomes and make adjustments to care plans as needed
Business Growth
- Collaborate with marketing and sales to support referral growth and territory expansion
- Analyze operational metrics and financial performance; report to executive team
- Identify opportunities for service line expansion or operational improvements
🧠Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Preferred: in healthcare administration, nursing, business, or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in home care operations
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing cross-functional teams
- Strong knowledge of state home care regulations and compliance standards
- Proven track record of improving operational performance and client outcomes
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in scheduling software, EMRs, and productivity tools (e.g., ClearCare, AlayaCare, WellSky)
💼 Preferred Experience
- RN or clinical license a plus, but not required
- Experience scaling multi-location or high-volume home care operations
- Familiarity with private pay and/or Medicaid waiver programs
