Job Title: Accounting Specialist

About the Role

Foreign Venture Group (FVG) is seeking detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist to join our growing outsourced accounting team. In this role, you will provide day-to-day accounting support to an international accounting firm serving not-for-profit organizations. You will play an essential role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting month-end accounting activities while working as part of a collaborative remote team.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) transactions accurately and on time.
• Prepare and perform month-end account reconciliations.
• Process and reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Record journal entries and ensure supporting documentation is complete.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies promptly.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with accounting standards and client procedures.
• Collaborate with internal and client teams to ensure timely completion of accounting tasks.
• Support additional transactional accounting and bookkeeping functions as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or transactional accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and the full accounting cycle.
• Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a remote team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting accounting firms or multiple clients.
• Experience working with not-for-profit organizations is an asset.
• Familiarity with cloud-based accounting platforms.
• Experience in an outsourced accounting or Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) environment.
• CPA designation or ongoing CPA studies are considered an advantage.
