About the Role

We’re looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) to join our downtown studio. You’ll deliver a blend of therapeutic and traditional Eastern-inspired massage treatments in a calm, professional, and client-focused environment. Your work will help restore physical balance and promote overall health through safe, effective, and holistic care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide therapeutic massage treatments—such as Tuina, deep tissue, Shiatsu, Thai, and Reflexology—tailored to clients’ unique needs and goals.
  • Conduct client assessments, including physical condition evaluation and symptom discussion, to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Draw from Traditional Chinese Medicine principles—such as acupressure meridians, Qi flow, and holistic balance—to enhance treatment effectiveness.
  • Explain post-treatment techniques and offer guidance on self-care, stretching, and injury prevention.
  • Maintain accurate treatment records in compliance with standards and each client’s privacy.
  • Ensure treatment spaces are clean, relaxing, and well-maintained for a welcoming client experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues offering acupuncture, cupping, and Gua Sha, referring clients when complementary modalities may benefit their care.
  • Follow industry best practices, stay current with continuing education, and uphold high professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Active registration as a Massage Therapist in Ontario (or relevant regulatory body).
  • Graduation from a recognized Massage Therapy program.
  • Valid liability and professional insurance.
  • Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and various therapeutic techniques.
  • Additional training or certification in Tuina or other Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities (e.g., Shiatsu, Gua Sha, cupping) is a strong asset.
  • Sensitive, caring approach with excellent communication skills for building client trust and retention.
  • Strong organizational skills and reliability.
  • Openness to working within a holistic wellness team offering complementary treatments.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience in delivering Tuina massage rooted in traditional Eastern therapeutic philosophies.
  • Familiarity with clinical and holistic settings that cater to musculoskeletal and stress-related conditions.
  • Experience incorporating EMR or clinic management tools into practice.
  • Ability to address issues such as neck/back pain, frozen shoulder, headaches/migraines, insomnia, stress, muscular pain, digestive or reproductive discomfort, and more through therapeutic techniques.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation and flexible scheduling.
  • A newly renovated, spacious, and tranquil studio setting ideally located downtown.
  • A supportive, collaborative atmosphere alongside other health-care professionals.
  • Fully equipped treatment rooms with supplies and tools for modalities including acupuncture, cupping, Gua Sha, and more.
  • Opportunities for ongoing professional development in both Western massage therapy and Eastern modalities.
