About the Role
We’re looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) to join our downtown studio. You’ll deliver a blend of therapeutic and traditional Eastern-inspired massage treatments in a calm, professional, and client-focused environment. Your work will help restore physical balance and promote overall health through safe, effective, and holistic care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide therapeutic massage treatments—such as Tuina, deep tissue, Shiatsu, Thai, and Reflexology—tailored to clients’ unique needs and goals.
- Conduct client assessments, including physical condition evaluation and symptom discussion, to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Draw from Traditional Chinese Medicine principles—such as acupressure meridians, Qi flow, and holistic balance—to enhance treatment effectiveness.
- Explain post-treatment techniques and offer guidance on self-care, stretching, and injury prevention.
- Maintain accurate treatment records in compliance with standards and each client’s privacy.
- Ensure treatment spaces are clean, relaxing, and well-maintained for a welcoming client experience.
- Collaborate with colleagues offering acupuncture, cupping, and Gua Sha, referring clients when complementary modalities may benefit their care.
- Follow industry best practices, stay current with continuing education, and uphold high professional standards.
Qualifications
- Active registration as a Massage Therapist in Ontario (or relevant regulatory body).
- Graduation from a recognized Massage Therapy program.
- Valid liability and professional insurance.
- Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and various therapeutic techniques.
- Additional training or certification in Tuina or other Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities (e.g., Shiatsu, Gua Sha, cupping) is a strong asset.
- Sensitive, caring approach with excellent communication skills for building client trust and retention.
- Strong organizational skills and reliability.
- Openness to working within a holistic wellness team offering complementary treatments.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience in delivering Tuina massage rooted in traditional Eastern therapeutic philosophies.
- Familiarity with clinical and holistic settings that cater to musculoskeletal and stress-related conditions.
- Experience incorporating EMR or clinic management tools into practice.
- Ability to address issues such as neck/back pain, frozen shoulder, headaches/migraines, insomnia, stress, muscular pain, digestive or reproductive discomfort, and more through therapeutic techniques.
