Job Overview: 

Our client is a licensed paralegal operating out of Edmonton, Alberta, seeking an in-office Paralegal to join their virtual team. This role involves direct support for legal matters involving family law, civil claims, landlord-tenant disputes, and tribunal submissions. The successful candidate will have experience handling Canadian legal cases and confidence in working independently. 


Key Responsibilities 

● Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, affidavits, contracts, applications, and tribunal submissions 

● Conduct legal research using verified Canadian resources and summarize findings for case use 

● Prepare disclosure packages, manage evidence documentation, and assist with case strategy 

● Maintain client files and support all documentation and communication tracking 

● Coordinate timelines, court filings, and ensure submission of documents before deadlines 

● Act as a liaison between clients, courts, and related third parties as needed 

● Provide procedural guidance and administrative support to the principal paralegal 


Qualifications: 

Paralegal certificate/diploma from a recognized Canadian institution 

● Minimum 2 years of experience as a Paralegal in Canada (Alberta experience preferred) 

● Strong familiarity with Alberta court forms, procedures, and e-filing systems 

● Demonstrated ability to draft, edit, and review legal documents 

● Proficient in legal research tools (e.g., CanLII) and document formatting standards 

● Exceptional organizational, communication, and case management skills 

● Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to manage workload independently 

● Experience in family law, civil litigation, or LTB (Landlord and Tenant Board) is an asset
