Outside Sales Representative
HVAC & Power Rental Solutions
This isn’t just another job post. It’s a market signal.
If you’re a technical or industrial sales professional who feels boxed in by a limited territory, capped earnings, or a company that expects growth without providing the tools to deliver it, this is worth a closer look.
I work closely with leadership teams inside the HVAC and power rental sector. The right sales professional can build a meaningful market here—and be rewarded for the revenue they create.
The Market Opportunity
This opportunity is with a nationwide HVAC and power rental provider supporting customers with temporary cooling, heating, dehumidification, and power solutions.
The equipment is deployed where downtime creates real financial and operational consequences:
- Non-residential construction
- Industrial and manufacturing facilities
- Data centers and healthcare
- Planned shutdowns and facility expansions
- Emergency response and equipment failures
Demand is active, recurring, and driven by problems customers cannot afford to ignore.
Why This Role Is Different
- Real earning leverage
- Base salary plus uncapped monthly commissions paid on revenue.
- $130K–$175K realistic OTE
- Strong performers can exceed this because the compensation plan rewards production.
- The tools to compete
- Company vehicle, phone, laptop, customer expense account, and the technology needed to manage the territory.
- Stability with upside
- Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) match, and paid time off.
- Long-term runway
- Strong performers can advance into larger territories, key accounts, major projects, and sales leadership.
What Success Looks Like
- You own the territory: prospecting, relationship development, pipeline management, and account growth.
- You meet decision-makers face-to-face, including contractors, facility leaders, plant managers, engineers, and operations teams.
- You uncover problems quickly and position rental solutions for urgent, high-stakes situations.
- You manage your pipeline like a business owner and remain accountable for activity, opportunities, and revenue. And no micromanagement.
- You become the person customers call before the problem becomes an emergency.
Who This Is For—and Who It’s Not
You may be aligned if you have:
- 3–5+ years of successful outside B2B sales experience
- Experience in HVAC, industrial services, power, construction, equipment rental, fire protection, facility services, or an adjacent technical market
- Confidence prospecting and building business from the ground up
- A competitive, self-directed, and accountable approach
- Technical curiosity—you do not need to know everything on day one, but you must want to learn
- A preference for being in the market with customers instead of sitting behind a desk
This is probably not the right role if:
- You need warm leads handed to you
- You prefer transactional, low-urgency sales
- You avoid cold prospecting or face-to-face customer development
- You want to maintain an existing book rather than build a market
Final Thought
This is not about renting equipment.
It is about becoming the go-to solution partner in a market where downtime costs real money and customers need someone who can respond.
You may not be actively looking. That is completely fair. But if the market, compensation, and growth path sound relevant, let’s have a confidential, no-pressure conversation and compare notes.
Cheers,
