Rental Account Manager – Power Solutions (Houston, TX)
Overview
We’re partnering with a leading provider in the power generation and rental solutions space to identify a Rental Account Manager based in Houston.
This is a pure sales role with technical depth—focused on delivering temporary power solutions for mission-critical environments.

What You’ll Own
This role is responsible for driving revenue, managing projects, and owning customer relationships from first call to closeout.
You are not an order taker—you are the quarterback of the deal.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Generate revenue through new business development and account expansion
- Target contractors, EPC firms, industrial operators, municipalities, and facility managers
- Identify opportunities across:
- Emergency power
- Planned outages
- Long-term project support
- Build and execute account plans for key customers and verticals
- Convert inbound inquiries into booked revenue
Technical Solution Selling
- Assess customer requirements:
- kW sizing, voltage, fuel type, redundancy, runtime
- Design solutions including:
- Generators, load banks, transformers, switchgear, cables, fuel systems
- Interpret basic electrical one-line diagrams
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, and service teams
- Clearly communicate scope, risks, and timelines
Project Ownership
- Act as the primary point of contact throughout the rental lifecycle
- Partner with internal teams for:
- Quotes, logistics, contracts, invoicing
- Manage:
- Change orders
- Extensions
- Scope adjustments
- Ensure execution aligns with customer expectations
Commercial Responsibility
- Own pricing strategy and margin performance
- Protect profitability by managing scope and expectations
- Secure signed agreements and drive deals to close
- Review job performance and address margin leakage
Account Management & Retention
- Build long-term, trust-based relationships
- Conduct post-project follow-ups to drive repeat business
- Identify upsell opportunities (maintenance, long-term or permanent solutions)
- Support collections and resolve billing issues when needed
What We’re Looking For

5+ years in power rental or related equipment rental industries
- Strong knowledge of generators and temporary power applications
- Experience selling into:
- Industrial
- Construction
- Commercial
- Municipal sectors
- Ability to operate in time-sensitive, outage-driven environments
- Proven track record of hitting or exceeding sales targets
