Lead Complex Engineering Projects. Develop Engineers. Advance Your Career.

Are you an experienced Civil or Structural Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and is ready to take the next step toward engineering leadership?

Precision Hire is partnering with a globally recognized leader in engineered construction solutions to identify a Senior Project Engineer for its Dallas-area engineering team.

This opportunity combines hands-on structural engineering, technical project leadership, and mentorship of junior engineers. You'll help deliver engineered formwork, shoring, and temporary structural solutions supporting commercial, industrial, and infrastructure construction projects.

This is not a traditional construction project management position. We're seeking a technically strong engineer who enjoys design calculations, engineering drawings, problem-solving, and guiding other engineers while developing toward future leadership responsibilities.

What You'll Do

Technical Engineering & Design

  • Lead the engineering design and execution of complex formwork, shoring, scaffolding, and temporary structural support solutions.
  • Perform structural load calculations, analyze design loads, and apply engineering principles to ensure safe, efficient construction solutions.
  • Customize and adapt engineered formwork systems to meet unique project requirements, site conditions, and construction methods.
  • Develop, review, and validate technical drawings, engineering calculations, and project documentation.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit to support design development, drafting, and engineering coordination.
  • Apply knowledge of statics, structural mechanics, and applicable engineering standards to solve complex technical challenges.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

  • Serve as a technical resource for junior engineers, providing design guidance, mentorship, and engineering support.
  • Review engineering work for accuracy, constructability, safety, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to prioritize assignments, resolve technical issues, and support team performance.
  • Help strengthen engineering capabilities, design consistency, and technical problem-solving across the team.

Project Execution & Collaboration

  • Coordinate with sales, engineering, operations, and field teams to deliver practical, cost-effective engineered solutions.
  • Evaluate project specifications, construction drawings, and jobsite requirements to develop appropriate engineering designs.
  • Provide technical support throughout project execution, including occasional site visits and troubleshooting.
  • Communicate engineering recommendations and design considerations to internal teams, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Support project schedules, engineering deliverables, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • Approximately 4–8+ years of relevant engineering experience, ideally involving construction engineering, structural design, temporary works, or formwork systems.
  • Strong understanding of engineering statics, structural load calculations, and design fundamentals.
  • Working proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience developing or reviewing engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to solve complex engineering challenges while balancing safety, constructability, and project requirements.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to provide technical direction to other engineers.
  • Willingness to work on-site in the Dallas/McKinney area, with approximately 5–15% regional travel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license; EIT or FE credentials are also welcomed.
  • Experience designing or engineering formwork, shoring, scaffolding, concrete structures, or temporary works.
  • Background supporting commercial, industrial, heavy civil, or infrastructure construction.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or serving as a technical project lead.
  • Familiarity with construction sequencing, concrete placement loads, and temporary structural systems.

A PE license is preferred, not mandatory. Engineers with strong technical capabilities, relevant project experience, and demonstrated leadership potential are encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Career Opportunity

  • Base Salary: $90,000–$100,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Profit Sharing: Annual bonus opportunity, historically estimated at approximately three weeks of salary when company performance objectives are achieved.
  • Salary Growth: Merit-based increases, generally ranging from 1–4%, subject to performance and company policies.
  • Relocation Assistance: Competitive relocation support available for qualified candidates relocating to the Dallas area.
  • Career Advancement: Opportunity to grow from senior technical contributor into broader engineering leadership responsibilities.
  • Global Organization: Join an established international engineering and construction solutions organization with extensive technical resources and long-term career development opportunities.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This position offers more than another engineering assignment.

You'll have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, mentor developing engineers, contribute to challenging construction projects, and build the leadership experience needed for future career advancement.

If you're a hands-on engineer who wants to remain technically engaged while expanding your influence and responsibilities, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
