HVAC Inside Sales Representative
When a plant loses cooling, a jobsite needs temporary heat, or a facility is racing to dry out after a storm, the first call has to land with someone who can turn urgency into a clear plan. This role owns that moment. You will match temporary climate-control and power equipment to real site conditions, quote it accurately, and move the customer from inquiry to a confirmed rental or purchase without losing time or trust.
Performance Objectives
- Convert inbound rental and equipment inquiries into qualified opportunities the same business day, with scope, timeline, and decision-maker captured.
- Deliver accurate quotes for air conditioners, chillers, heaters, dehumidifiers, air handlers, filtration, and related power packages that fit load, duration, and budget.
- Increase repeat and long-term rental revenue from contractors, facility managers, and contingency accounts by recommending the right mix of temporary and purchased equipment.
- Confirm availability, delivery, and turnkey support with operations before the customer commits, so quoted solutions can actually be deployed.
- Keep the pipeline current and the weekly forecast reliable, including win/loss reasons and follow-up dates.
- During surge periods, prioritize emergency requests and issue clear equipment recommendations fast enough to support rapid response.
Environment & Resources
You will work with inside sales, dispatch, service, and logistics from a Tampa-area commercial rental operation serving industrial, construction, facilities, and disaster-response needs. Quoting tools, equipment specs, and a shared CRM are in place. You report to the sales leader and partner daily with operations so promises match fleet and field capacity. No independent budget ownership; you influence quote structure, rental duration, and add-on recommendations within approved pricing.
Essential Qualifications
- Proven inside or counter sales results in HVAC, equipment rental, industrial distribution, or a similar technical sale.
- Ability to translate cooling, heating, dehumidification, or power needs into a practical equipment recommendation and a clean quote.
- Comfort managing a high volume of phone, email, and web inquiries while protecting response time.
- Working knowledge of CRM pipeline stages, forecasting, and disciplined follow-up.
- Clear written and spoken communication with contractors, facility teams, and emergency contacts under time pressure.
- Willingness to learn load basics, rental terms, and fleet capabilities quickly; HVAC or rental certification is a plus, not a substitute for results.
Role Selling Points
- Sell solutions people need now: temporary cooling, heat, dry-out, filtration, and power, not a single catalog item.
- See the full path from first call through delivery, including turnkey and contingency work.
- Balance planned rentals and direct sales with high-stakes rapid-response demand.
- Work beside operations, so your quotes are backed by equipment, logistics, and field support.
- Join a specialized commercial rental team where technical judgment is noticed and repeat business is the scoreboard.
